I am very frustrated with Misi. I love that site. I was so excited when I had an email from Emma inviting me to sell on her new shopping site and threw myself into it hook, line and sinker.
Since it grew, and a new gubbins was required to keep up, there have been changes in the Members Area.
Misians will know what I mean.
This has slowed everyone down with listing and forums etc. I have to say I have become quite nippy when it comes to my listing schedule. Firstly I photograph up to 5 items. 6 photos each. Then I edit them all and place in a file 'to list' so that when I am ready I can go to the file and they are ready to go.
Once I decide to list it will take me only 5 mins or so per item to list. I then go onto Twitter, Facebook and Misi Forum to promote my new piece.
Today it took me over 30 minutes to list and forum it. I had to come out several times and go back in as pages would not load.
I always prefer to come out and go back in rather than sit and watch those little green squares!
It is the same as going through the back roads rather than sit for 20minutes in the Bath Road traffic jam.....
Anyway, I then took another 15 minutes going back in to pick up the link to Facebook and Twitter it. Not been to Facebook yet as I really really must get on and....
DO SOMETHING MORE INTERESTING!
Actually, I need to go and iron the sofa cover. The sofa is cream, and every year (for 4 years) we have had a man in to dry clean it with chemicals. Lovely man, but he tells us off if it is too grubby! This year we decided to wash it on a cold wash with detergent and Vanish!
The cushions came up a treat and they still fit!! So, emboldened (is that a real word??) with this success we decided to take off the cover. It is the back, arms and skirt. All in one piece and lots of velcro to attach it back onto the sofa frame.
It is clean now but not sure if it still fits. I shall iron it this morning and if it all goes well I shall photograph it and show you tomorrow.
Well, I shall photograph it for you anyway, especially if it does not fit, to brighten your day!
Here is the link to my necklace for today on Misi. It does not 'hot spot' anymore but please have a look anyway.

hello jean, I can understand your frustration, especially as you are working so hard to do all your listings. I promoted all the various MISI shops a while back, but I'm not going to promote MISI again, and I'm letting my shop run its course. watch for my blog later today, I've been out and about in devizes (again)
ReplyDeleteBeen there done it. Closed my shop down a month ago, everything was very frustrating (previously nuttystamper). I hope your covers all fit. I was thinking of doing the same, but too scared to try it. Mine is very fine needlecord type stuff and not sure whether it would wash, or the colour would hold.
ReplyDeleteWould be pleased if you could add your name to my followers - I am a newby and only just started this blogging business - thanks

I feel the same Jean and if it hasn't picked up by christmas i'm closing my shop and concentrating on my website and folksy. It's a shame cos i love misi but it's just not happening at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThank you Milly.
ReplyDeleteGirls, thankyou all for the comments. It is such a shame we all feel this way, and just imagine how many others feel this way and do not say anything...
Hey Ho I am carrying on with my listing for this month and then leave them all there until they run out. Or Sell. Ha Ha Ha!
oh dear, me too. Such a shame....
ReplyDeleteMe too! Misi is slow all too often, daily again right now and although Emma has explained why it's slow, why the heck is she prepared to put up with it and p---us off into the bargain?
ReplyDeleteI have lost confidence in Misi because all too often someone has a problem with the checkout or someone can't find their stuff when they search for it. People ask for help and don't receive it, at least not in a timely manner and Emma just doesn't keep us informed as to what is going on. Why on Earth we can't have a regular announcement in the forums or a blanket newsletter sending out, I don't know?
I have just listed five or six items on ArtFire today...just the free service but I could list up to twelve and may do so when I get back from France.
I too love Misi for the lovely people, but that is all I love about it.
Actually to correct myself....you can list as many items as you like for FREE on ArtFire.(you can chose to upgrade your shop and pay but there is no real need) No fees when listing, no commission charge either.Quick response from ArtFire and it so quick and easy to list items....all done on one single page. PLUS when people look/shop they can view your items in their currency.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely necklace Jean. Unfortunately I have to agree with everything that has been said on your 'comments'. Have listed a couple of items (couldn't keep up with the daily looney listings!)but I think I'll let things run their course and shut up shop. I have had probs when purchasing recently, and had to pm the person to make sure I hadn't ordered 20 items!!! Also waiting to hear why my avatar on the forums wont work.....
ReplyDeleteEnough of my moaning, SORRY!!! Have a good day, :)
I have to admit I haven't been on MISI very much lately either. I use to like it as much as Folksy but since the changes, when all the initial problems were happening I spent more time on Folksy and just haven't gone back as much.
ReplyDeleteI agree with all the above I closed my misi shop last week,no sales at all-so many views over a 100 on some items. The forums were so helpful, just like folksy forums. I shall stay with folksy and dreamaid unless something else temps me,any suggestions??
